Tribute in honor of Cooper Johnson
In a heartfelt tribute to Cooper Johnson, a beloved member of the tennis community, one of his coaches shared the following message online:“The original Tennis Team and the entire tennis community have lost one of the very best—an extraordinary young man who truly stood out in every way. Cooper Johnson, affectionately known as ‘Coop,’ was a shining example of what it means to chase greatness with heart, humility, and determination.”
“In all our years of coaching, we have never witnessed a journey quite like Cooper’s. He began as the 24th-ranked player on the team—last on the roster—but through relentless hard work, fierce dedication, and an unshakable belief in himself, he climbed all the way to the top. That kind of transformation doesn’t happen by chance. It was fueled by Cooper’s tireless commitment, the guidance of professional coaches, the constant support of his beloved Grandpa Jim, and above all, his deep and genuine love for the game of tennis.”
“Our hearts go out to his parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family, high school and college teammates, coaches, and to the countless friends—hundreds, maybe even thousands—whose lives were touched by Cooper’s energy, kindness, and spirit.” “We love you and miss you dearly, Coop.”
