Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Zach succumbed to the injuries he sustained and passed away two days later, on February 17th, surrounded by his loved ones. His unexpected and untimely passing has left his family and friends in deep shock and profound sorrow. The loss of such a vibrant, kind-hearted young man has created a void that will be felt forever by all who knew and loved him.

Who was Zach Wright

Zach was born on October 25, 1998, in Utah to parents Steve Wright and Lesli Wright. A lifelong resident of Provo, he graduated from Provo High School in 2017 and went on to pursue higher education at Utah Valley University. His love for learning and helping others was evident throughout his life.

At the time of his passing, Zach was working as a counselor at Utah Behavioral Services, where he provided care and guidance to children with Autism. This position wasn’t just a job for Zach—it was his passion and calling. He developed meaningful, heartwarming relationships with the children he worked with, and they, in turn, deeply loved and trusted him. Zach recently shared with his mother that his experience at the center had inspired him to pursue a career in teaching, hoping to continue making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Zach Wright lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, enriched by a wide range of passions and interests that reflected his curious mind and joyful spirit. His days were filled with activities that brought him genuine happiness and meaning. He was an avid sports enthusiast, finding excitement and camaraderie in both watching and playing. He is survived by his loving parents, Steve Wright and Lesli Wright, as well as his devoted stepfather, Kenny Wright. Also mourning his loss are his cherished grandmothers, Ann Wright and Louette Wright, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Zach was also a proud and loving pet owner, and he leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Duke and Stella, as well as his cherished cat, Puma.

Zach Wright was preceded in death by his dear grandfather Wayne Wright, with whom he shared a special bond and many treasured memories skiing together. He is also reunited with his Uncle David and three cousins who passed before him.

Although Zach Wright’s time on this earth was far too short, his life was rich in love, joy, and purpose.
